By reversing the flow of refrigerant, the heat pump refrigeration cycle is changed from cooling to heating or vice versa. The four-way reversing valves are used in heat pump systems, including central, unitary, and room air conditioning systems, to switch between cooling and heating modes by altering the refrigerant flow path.
